Visual Art Classes
In the past we have offered a variety of skill building art classes and workshops. Thanks to the generosity of Community Initiatives Fund we are once again offering art classes this coming season. As plans are made, details will be advertised on our Facebook page, and on the Events and Calendar section of this website.
Our Program Coordinator for the coming season is Melissa McNeil. She can be reached through our “Contact Us” page if you have questions, comments, or suggestions for the coming season.
After School Art Program
In partnership with the Alex Robertson Public Library, we are once again offering an after school art program for students age 6-13. This takes place at the library on Thursdays, from 4pm to 5. Watch for sign up info and teaching opportunities!
Community Mural Program
In partnership with the Alex Robertson Public Library Artist-in-Residence program, we have a mural underway on the Truth and Reconciliation theme, which should be hanging up in downtown La Ronge in the spring. This project grew out of another project we had with the ARPL AiR at which we invited professional artists to assist participants in expressing their feelings about Truth and Reconciliation through art. The mural design, shown in the sketches above, is a compilation of the ideas expressed by the group, and was put together by program participant Allen Morrow. Watch for its colourful presence in the spring, and also for other mural ideas we have brewing.
This is new this year, and has grown from the very popular pottery classes we’ve held with instructor Bob Polischuk. It will run as a private ‘club’ which has a little bit of support from the LRAC. If you are passionate about pottery and are ready to get your hands dirty, Contact Us and we’ll see that you get the info.
