DESCRIPTION:Martin Kerr might be the only artist in the world to have played 400 live shows during the pandemic. When Covid-19 cancelled all his touring and festival plans for the foreseeable future\, he launched his now signature Stay Home Street Concerts as a way of continuing to bring music and joy to the people who needed it the most. \nFrom driveways\, balconies\, and front lawns\, every show finished with the whole street singing ‘You’re Amazing’\, the uplifting\, instantly singable hit from Kerr’s latest album. (‘You’re Amazing’ has earned radio play across Canada\, the UK and the Netherlands and climbed to #4 on the Spotify Viral Chart.) \nMartin’s latest album “Grateful” features a long list of collaborating artists. SUMMARY:Motus O - The Prisoner of Tehran
DESCRIPTION:Prisoner of Tehran\, based on the book of the same name\, is a unique collaboration between Iranian born writer/speaker Marina Nemat and MOTUS O. \nThis unique performance piece is a synthesis of theatre\, video and storytelling that swims in a landscape of movement brushing the themes of oppression\, persecution\, survival and most of all HOPE. After the Islamic Revolution of 1979\, Marina was arrested at the age of sixteen and spent more than two years in Evin\, a political prison in Tehran\, where she was tortured and came very close to execution. She came to Canada in 1991 and has called it home ever since. \nMarina’s book Prisoner of Tehran has been published in 28 other countries and is an international bestseller. After each show a Question and Answer period will take place. DESCRIPTION:Alberta’s JUNO award nominated “Over The Moon” are totally immersed in real cowboy country. Their music is a wild ride from 40’s western swing and Appalachian old time\, to cowboy blues\, all featuring their meant-to-be vocals and a wide array of acoustic instruments. Suzanne Levesque and Craig Bignell are both award winning multi-instrumentalists and vocalists. After discovering their near perfect blend of voices\, often moving people to tears upon hearing them sing together\, they stepped over the threshold and Over The Moon was born.
